Stacy Alford

Biography:

Stacy Alford grew up in Tyler, Texas.  Ms. Alford obtained dual degrees in Civil Engineering and Geology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.  In 1992, she became a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.   For over 17 years, Ms. Alford worked as an engineer in Texas and Germany.  She worked for the United States Military Community Activity, Engineering Plans and Services Division in Ansbach, Germany at the time the Berlin Wall came down.  As a military wife, she began working in her husband’s unit helping families deal with the anxiety associated with both short and long deployments and war.

Once back in the United States, she worked as a subcontractor on Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) construction projects as a quality control engineer. During her time there the in-house counsel for DART encouraged Ms. Alford to attend law school.

In 2004, Ms. Alford graduated from Texas A&M University School of Law.  As a student, Ms. Alford worked in the Family Law Clinic and developed a passion for helping others.  This passion carried over into her outside practice.  For over 17 years, Ms. Alford was a solo practitioner in her own firm, practicing all aspects of Family Law.  She is highly skilled and successful in handling family law cases concerning child custody, child support, termination, adoption, paternity cases, divorces, and property settlements.

In addition, Ms. Alford has been an active participant defending clients in Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) custody cases. She has become intimately familiar with the Tarrant County judicial system. For 17 years she has handled CPS court appointment cases, foster parent adoptions, representation of foster children, and CPS defense. She has focused on working with families and children in foster care. Handling CPS cases can be emotionally draining and difficult. Compassion is required each step of the way as you help parents and children through the worst experience and period of separation in their life.

She has always strived to work with CPS clients and guide them toward the best outcome for their family. Each family dynamic is different, and each CPS case requires creativity and the ability to negotiate an outcome that protects the family bond, as well as, the children.

In July 2022, Ms. Alford joined the Jim Ross Law Group, hoping to add to the experience and expertise of the firm’s Family Law Group.  She continues to provide excellence in family law and CPS cases and will strive to work with clients to reach goals that are best for their individual family dynamics and to insure a long lasting family bond.
